Steven Ronald Watson

Steven Ronald Watson, 95, of Phoenix, passed away February 09, 2012 in Scottsdale, Nevada.

Visitation will be held at Arlington National Funeral Home in Houston on February 12, 2012 at 2:00 – 5:00 pm.

Funeral service will be held at Arlington National Funeral Home on February 13, 2012 at 11:00 am with Reverend Ken Bell of St. Andrew’s Church officiating. Burial will follow at Desert Hills Cemetery. Brooks and Sons Funeral Home are handling the funeral arrangements.

Steven was born in Phoenix to Arthur and Brenda Watson on February 15, 1917. He went to high school at Phoenix Palms High School and graduated in 1934. He went on to earn a degree in Business from Nevada State University. He worked as a VP of Marketing for a golf course for 40+ years. He was a member of the Shriner’s of Phoenix. He enjoyed football, baseball, collecting sports memorabilia, watching movies, and spending time with his family.

Steven is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Brenda; three brothers Gregory, Dennis and Douglas Watson; and a sister Nicole Collins.

Steven is survived by his sister Rose (Rob) Smith of Scottsdale; son Joshua (Irene) Watson; daughter Judith (Ken) Price; two grandchildren Christina Watson and Tammy Price; and newborn great-granddaughter Jane Watson.

Rachel Robin Murray

Rachel Robin Murray, 82, of Richmond, died at 9:00 AM, Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at The Richmond Palliative Care Center in Richmond, Virginia. 

She was born January 2, 1930 in Petersburg, Virginia, to Dennis and Wanda Owen. She married Wayne Murray on June 29, 1950 and he survives.

Also surviving are her mother Wanda Owen of Lynchburg, two sons, Jack (Paula) Owen of Lynchburg, and Charles Murray of Portland; one granddaughter Catharine; one sister Rita (Frank) West of Vancouver; one brother Randy (Anna) Owen; three nephews, Kent, Josh and Greg Owen and several cousins.

Rachel’s father Dennis G. Murray and one son, Brandon Steve Murray preceded her in death.

Rachel was a long time resident of Richmond where she lived since leaving her childhood home in Petersburg at the age of 18. She graduated from Petersburg Secondary School in 1947 and was a science and math teacher at Richmond High School.

She loved to read and enjoyed card games and shopping with her friends. She also loved to volunteer and spent time every weekend helping at a local animal shelter.

The visitation is from 10:30 AM until 11:30 AM on Friday, January 6, 2012 at the Arlington National Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow the next day at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 7, 2012, also at the Arlington National Funeral Home. Reverend Jack M. Webb will be officiating. The burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery.
